Paul Damiano, CPA

Managing Director, Money Take Back

I've spent the last 20 years of my career helping businesses and individuals get money back from the U.S. government. When the IEEPA tariffs were struck down, I knew thousands of small importers would be owed refunds — and most of them wouldn't know where to start. That's why I built Money Take Back: a simple, flat-fee service that handles the entire process so business owners can focus on running their business.

How we protect you

  • No eligible shipments? Full refund. If we analyze your records and determine you have no eligible shipments, we refund your service fee in full. No questions asked.
  • Flat fee, no percentage. You pay once. Whatever CBP refunds you is 100% yours. We never take a cut of your refund.
  • Your documents are encrypted. All files are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (server-side encryption). Only the staff needed to deliver your service can access them.
  • Your data is yours. Request deletion at any time. We complete deletions within 30 days, subject to any legally required retention periods.
  • Professional oversight. All filings are prepared and submitted in coordination with licensed customs professionals. We don't guess — we verify eligibility against the published tariff codes before filing.
  • Payments processed securely. We use a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your card number.

What happens if CBP denies my claim?

We notify you by email with the reason CBP provided. Our service fee covers the preparation and submission of your filing — it is not contingent on CBP approving the refund. If CBP denies a claim after we have submitted it, the service fee is not refunded because the work has been completed. However, if we determine before beginning work that your shipments are not eligible, you receive a full refund.

What does the authorization mean?

During onboarding, you authorize us to create a CBP portal account in your business's name and submit your refund filing through it. Here's exactly what that means:

  • What we access: We create and manage your CBP import portal (ACE) account using the business details you provide (name, EIN, address). We submit your refund filing through this account.
  • You keep full control: The account is in your business's name. You own it. You can log in, change the password, or take over management at any time.
  • You can revoke access: Contact us at any time to revoke our authorization. We will stop accessing the account immediately.
  • Document retention: We retain your uploaded documents for up to 24 months after your account is active, subject to CBP's 5-year record retention requirement. You can request deletion at any time.
